This is my Dad's R100RS which he bought new as a R100RT in 1983.
You may want to know why this isn't a RT but a RS now? Well, let's say, I was young (45) and stupid and thought I could follow a R1100GS in the European Alpes in June 2003. Well, I did give him a run for his life, until it started raining. In one of the next corners, his tires had more grip than mine and I .. well, I crashed it. Nothing that cable ties and duc tape could not fix though:
I went further 3000km on the bike, from Italy back to England (after having finished the Tour des Alpes) and repaired it there. I gave my father the option of having a RT or a RS returned to him. He opted for the RS and has never regretted it. He has later added handlebar risers and is a happy bunny ever since.
